Introduction – The big fat frog
There was a big, fat frog.
It was green in color.
The frog was born & brought up in a Well.
It lived in that well since birth. Everyone could hear its cloak! cloak! sound, day and night.
Morning Sun rarely reached the water surface on the well
A visitor frog
The frog was happy enjoying the daily chores in the well until one day a frog from the sea fell in the well.
The visitor frog was a bit perplexed.
Flashback
It was raining heavily outside and the water level in the sea went higher and higher.
The visitor frog used to stay in the sea.
As the water level in the sea went higher and higher, the visitor frog got swept away along with the rainwater.
Tête-a-Tête
The frog of the well asked the visitor frog –
Friend, where do you come from?
The visitor frog said – Hello friend, I come from Sea
Sea? What’s that? How big is it? ” Said the frog of the well
Then he jumped from one corner of the well to the other & said-
Is it as big as my well?
The visitor frog laughed & said –
Have you gone mad, my friend
How can you compare a small, tiny WELL with SEA?
Sea is vast, it is huge…
You will not be able to identify the starting point and the ending point!
The frog from the well said –
Impossible! Impossible!
Nothing in this world can be as big as my well!
This frog from the sea is a liar! Throw him out of the well!
The World we live in …
Our World today is no better.
A lot of us, be it individual or organizations or schools have this “Frog in the well” mindset
I have seen a lot of scenarios where people say –
1. He is fat & hence he will not be able to play cricket
2. She is a girl & hence can’t excel in Sales
3. He is not so good in Mathematics & hence is perceived as an average student for all subjects even though he may be good in Chemistry or any other subject
4. We have so many divisions in society based on religion, region, language, etc. & perception is attached against each segment
The World Today is experiencing an unprecedented situation.
We should come out of such narrow mindsets & make the World a better place to live in.
The moral of this story of frogs would help the kids to develop an open mindset from the very early stage of life.
In Sanskrit, we use the term “Kupamanduka“ where the “Kupa” means Well and “manduka” means frog
